Not Really...

My mom never disconnected the Internet connection.

I was just too lazy to update.

I finally finished the godforsaken Gothlet. It didn't fit. The design is for women and I'm a teenager and I'm a petite teenager; something I realized when I wore the finished piece. I'm also a chorus member (an extra) for the school play, for the fifth play in a row, and it's the musical, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

As for my knitting, I knit a hat for my friend's bithday that's on Oct. 16 and I'm getting close to finishing the long gloves (don't underestimate the yardage of Rowan Kidsilk Haze), and in the queue is my little sister's pair of normal gloves from Classic Knits, the lace top from Glamour Knits, the Snow Devil from Domikintrix, and gifts for my friends for the holidays. I need to get a job. But, I still have one thing...

I'm falling for Gael Garcia Bernal.

Don't be Alarmed

Hello people.
My mother has recently threatened to disconnect the Internet service of our house today. So, if there are no new posts for a while, that's probably why.

At any rate, I started school and was moving along fine until I saw that I was not enrolled in the intermediate/advanced drama class because my Japanese III class took precedent. And, there is only one of each class and they're both at the same time; that's my predicament. Luckily, I came up with the solution to be the Japanese teacher's assistant for my fifth class and attend drama during sixth, but I do have to drop Intro to Photography. I hope that arrangement can be made.

Well, hopefully I can write more and my mother doesn't disconnect the Internet service like she did to our Directv. Toodles.

Like a Rolling Stone

Right now I can't think of much.

It could be the very obvious California summer heat that's making my mind a complete and total blank. I still have three essays to write for school tomorrow, I want a Volkswagon Microbus (jump on the hippie wagon) and I'm starting to dislike the Gothlet thing.

Blah

I would very much like it to be done so I can move on to the lace top in Glamour Knits and the Snow Devil and Lil' Red Riding Hoodie from Domiknitrix (hoodie's for my little sister). Not only that but to relax, chillax. I don't care. Blah

How does it feel to be without a home

Does anybody read this?

Unhappy Things

It's been a while since I last posted, but I guess I've been lazy. I hadn't knitted in a while either; it's probably because I had trouble the Gothlet pattern. That issue has been resolved and now I'm totally obssessed with it again, but there's another drag. I had homework over the summer for my class this school year and it sucks.
I have no problem going back to school. I have a reason to straighten my hair, wear make-up, see my friends, and finally get out of the house for at least half of day. That way I can say that I was in school and I have to do my homework, so my mom won't scream at me as much to do stuff around the house. But, there's the homework.
I really didn't want to but, I have to cram. My essays that analyze and evaluate a commentator's columns are not going to be so great. Right now, I really don't care; I'm going to be given the benefit of the doubt anyway because it's the beginning of the school year.

I hope I get early lunch.

Ain't No Mold for Me

In late June during my school's renovation, workers found high levels of toxic mold in an estimated sixty classrooms. Of course, Tokay High School was expecting renovation construction to continue into the the first few weeks of school, but this ugly bag of snakes reared its head. Now, classes are delayed until September (they usually start in July 30/31), students lose parts of their fall and spring break and nine days of summer vacation; the mold removal will end at around the 2008 summer.

It's not that bad because I have more time to finish my homework for my advanced placement class for the next school year and I have more time to hang out with my friends who are also in limbo with me. Not to mention having the house to myself while my little brother and sister are at school which starts at July 30 or 31. I can also finish some knitting projects in time for school, the universal fashion show.

Books, Help, and Declension of Singular Nouns

On Friday, the books I ordered arrived. They're absolutely

awesome and gorgeous that I can't wait to

knit the patterns.

I also encountered problems knitting the Gothlet. I just don't like how my post looks like; it's terrible. But, my whole problem is outlined there.

And, I have been learning more Russian since I last posted and there are so many things to learn, it's crazy. There pronouns, noun and verb cases, and adjectives and so on. I don't mind but, it's a lot of stuff to go through.

My Gothlet post looks better now, I finally figured out how to edit posts.

Coming Attractions

Well, It's been a while since I posted, but it's not all that bad. Over the weekend, I ordered Classic Knits and Glamour Knits By Erika Knight. I've looked through the books and the patterns look awesome. The Glamour Knits book also started my obsession with the Rowan Kidsilk Haze yarn mostly because of a pattern for long gloves in the book. They're spectacular and knit with size two needles. I got the needles at Wal-Mart (they're all metal) and I consider these needles as a high risk object. The stabbing and killing potential is enormous.

Saved!

I was able to knit the right sleeve of the pattern without repeating the misatakes I made and the stitches I picked up look great.

Although I have a lot left to knit, this is a personal victory. And the rest is yet to come. My next step is to pick more stitches for the back.

I also started learning how to write cursive Russian and I think it's doing okay.

It's not my preference; I can't write cursive English. But, this is the only way Russians will understand what I write and the only way I'll be able to read their writing.

You've Got to Pick Up Every Stitch/ Oh No Must be the Season Of the Witch

I have finished the left sleeve rather quickly (the joys of short sleeve) and now I have to pick up stitches.
I can't pick up stitches to save my life. A previous project can attest to that. My hope is this

Does not become this

So far, the sleeve is doing okay

It's not perfect but my

perfectionism can only go so far
but for someone like me it's good enough.

Hopefully I'll be able to knit the rest without too much problems.

The Adventure Begins!

Hello to whomsoever reads this. As you can probably tell, this is my first blog.

Excitment begins as I start knitting the Gothlet. This complex pattern created by Jennifer Stafford (http://www.domiknitrix.com/) is pretty and is a short sleeve version of the Elfin Bride.

See, excitment! I just hope my crappy extra cast on won't mess me up later on

At any rate, I want to knit the Snood (also by Stafford) my friend wanted before I delve too deeply into the Gothlet. I start knitting fast (I'm a continental) and get addicted, seriously. Last night, I ripped out about two inches on this blue baby. Nothing but arduous.

The Gothlet is being knit in Classic Elite Provence Clear Sky (I think) in size 6 circular needles.
